FDNY AHRENS-FOX APPARATUS, John A. Calderone, 1991

From the company that brought us "Wheels of the Bravest" and "A Guide to New York City Fire Apparatus" comes a book devoted to what some consider the classic fire engine.
New York City used many Foxes. (Ed. note: without divulging my age, my first ride on a fire engine was on Engine Co. 318's Ahrens-Fox).
This book contains some text, but is mainly a picture book. The many photos show Ahrens-Foxes both in posed and fire action shots. Although mostly black-and-white, a number of color photos appear of in-service rigs.
The Ahrens-Fox pumpers stationed at the 1939 World's Fair are also shown and discussed.
