FDNY Firefighters ("Pompiers de New York F.D.N.Y."), Sebastien Fremont and Carlo Zaglia, 2006

This new French book is the most lavish FDNY fire book in recent years! With text entirely in French, it covers all aspects of FDNY with over one hundred dramatic and stunning photos.
Starting out with a brief overview of both the FDNY and the City of New York, it continues with photos showing everyday life at the stations, including training, cooking, and of course fighting fires.
This is followed by a look at the FDNY Fire Academy showing probationary firefighters training. This book also takes a look at the Special Operations Command, showing Haz/Mat units, SCBA operations and fire boats.
Also included are many photos of FDNY units in action, an overview of the New York Fire Museum, "The Shops" (Fleet Services Division), Bureau of Fire Investigation, and company patches.
This book has some of the best color photographs, in recent years, of modern FDNY apparatus and some spectacular fire photos, including several oustanding photos of the huge 10 alarm fire on the Brooklyn waterfront in May of 2006.
Though the text is in French, the pictures tell the story!
This is one of the most beautiful FDNY books and a must have for any FDNY fan!
