Miami (City) Department of Fire-Rescue 1898-2000, Turner Publishing Company, 2002

A beautiful hard-bound coffee-table book that shows the City of Miami Fire-Rescue in detail.
The book begins with pictures of all fire chiefs, going back to the days when Miami was a volunteer department.
Next comes a history of the department, starting with the 1800's, and extending thru the 2000's.
This is followed by photos of members of the various divisions of the department, photos of fire trucks from different eras ("Trucks Over Time"), then each station (photo of the station, assigned personnel, trucks).
Of particular interest are the photos of the SWAT paramedics and the USAR (Urban Search and Rescue).
Intersperced throughout the book are fire action photos.
This book is a "must have" for anyone connected with, or interested in the City of Miami Fire-Rescue service.
9" x 12 1/4", 240 pages, hundreds of photos, hardcover, ISBN: 1-56311-702-9, BM5751 / $65.00
