This book details the author's two fire service careers that took him on the bumpy road to the top. These careers consumed over 30 years of his life.
Chief Wetsel was the Chief for Midway Fire Rescue in Pawleys Island, SC before retiring the second time. He first retired from the Department of Fire & Rescue Services in Montgomery County, MD. He has spent time as an officer in almost all facets of the fire service, such as; Fire Suppression, Code Enforcement and Arson Investigations.
Originally wanting to be a Montgomery County Police Officer while in high school, unexpected events led him to the fire service after finishing his time with the Navy Seabees.
He also writes about his honor of being invited to Ground Zero by some FDNY Firefighters. This was by far the most emotional trip the author had ever taken.
