ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Robert C. Bingham a 31 year veteran of the fire service, served as a deputy chief in the District of Columbia Fire Department, where he was a command officer for 15 years.
He implemented standard operating procedures and the Incident Command System in Washington D. C.
He has taught at the National Fire Academy and as an instructor and course developer for the University of the District of Columbia Fire Science program. He has authored many articles on firefighting procedures.
Chief Bingham is a fire training specialist and consults with fire departments investigating firefighter fatalities.
He is a graduate of the University of Maryland, University College, at College Park Maryland. He lives in Vienna, Virginia with his wife Joann.
