CHICAGOLAND FIRES - Sangamon Fire (DVD), Chicagoland Video Inc., 2003

19th Place & Sangamon, 5-11 + 4 Special Calls

This program is available in both VHS and DVD formats.

For the first time in over ten years, Chicagoland Video Inc. has produced a program featuring one fire.

The 5-11 and 4 specials from 19th Place and Sangamon in the Pilsen neighborhood is regarded by many as the biggest fire in Chicago in many years.

This 40 minute program captures the evolution of this fire from its early stages as a Still & Box alarm.

Originally called into the Fire Alarm Office as an automobile fire in an alley, this incident quickly escalated to multiple alarms, consuming two large mill type construction factory buildings.

The program features much of the initial scene pre-flashover, and continues through the extra alarms and special calls. Additional footage at the end shows the destruction and continued work the next night at the ruins

40 minutes, no narration, DVD version, DC3717 / $24.95
