The Thomas Fire which started on December 4th, 2017 claimed the life of one firefighter and destroyed over 1000 residential structures.

The wind driven fire pushed by 70 mph gusts traveled rapidly through the populated foothills of Ventura County and north into the Los Padres National Forest to become the largest wildfire in California history.
