Triangle Factory Fire Scandal, Fremantle Media, 2006

The mean streets of New York in the 1910s are a tough place to make a living and no one knows this better than the laborers at the Traingle Shirtwaist factory. The owners value production and profits over their workers safety. When a fire breaks out in the building, there are no precautions in place to save the employees from the terrible flames and they must make a dreadful choice: perish in flames or escape through the window to their deaths on the street below.
The fire at the Triangle Shirt Manufacturing Company in New York City in 1911 resulted in the deaths of 146 young women. The ensuing investigation revealed the company's almost total disregard for its workers' safety, and resulted in the passage of new worker safety laws and the formation of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
Based on the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire, this film depicts a gritty and dramatic portrait of one of America's major industrial disasters.
