This curriculum is intended as a teaching aid to use with the Principles of Vehicle Extrication 3rd edition manual.

The materials were designed for a 30-hour course, but they can be modified as needed because they were created using the basic features of Microsoft Word® and Microsoft PowerPoint®.

The Principles of Vehicle Extrication Curriculum addresses Sections 6.4.1 and 6.4.2 of NFPA® 1001 (2008); Chapter 4, Chapter 5 (Sections 5.1, through 5.5), and Chapter 10 of NFPA® 1006 (2008); and Chapters 4, 8, and 12 of NFPA® 1670 (2009) published by the National Fire Protection Association.

The scope of the curriculum covers the information necessary to meet Awareness-level, Operations-level and Technician-level vehicle extrication training.

The disc has a user-friendly interface that allows instructors to select the appropriate component from a menu. Included in each chapter are:

• Review questions and answer page references
• Test questions and answers

All of the files are customizable to allow instructors to add their own information.
