Narcotics Addiction: Those of us in public safety see the victims of drugs – some more than others. Why they use, and how they can stop, is beyond our training. But we also see the “collateral damage” caused by addiction – the families and friends of the addict. For these people there is help - the national organization Nar-Anon. Nar-Anon is a worldwide fellowship for those affected by someone else’s addiction. This support group has meetings in many cities. Go to nar-anon.org for meeting locations, or how to start up a new group, or contact me via email at ira@fire.police-ems.com. Feel free to pass this message along to others.
