within your budget. Send us a list of
what you need and what your budget is. We’ll do our best to meet your needs. If you’re not sure what you need, give us a
call or drop us an email and we can help you out with recommendations.
IFSTA Library: We get requests from
some departments for a "complete set of IFSTA manuals". There are a number of problems with this.
First, what IFSTA calls their "complete set" changes frequently
because of edition changes, titles discontinued, titles added. The second problem is that every fire
department really doesn't need every book in a "complete set". They may already have some, or don't need
some (Marine Firefighting, for example).
So, to get what you really need, nothing more, and at a reduced price,
email us a list to what you want (please use the IFSTA 35xxx or 36xxx number). We will promptly reply with a quote. If you
would still like the complete IFSTA library, give us a call for pricing.
Firefighter Recruit Training: So far this year we’ve seen the release of 5 new editions of recruit training books. They are:
IFSTA
Essentials of Firefighting 5th edition (http://www.fire-police-ems.com/books/be6271.shtml);
IFSTA / Brady Essentials of Fire Fighting and Fire Department Operations, 5th ed (http://www.fire-police-ems.com/books/be6280.shtml);
Jones & Bartlett Fundamentals of Fire Fighter Skills, 2nd ed. (http://www.fire-police-ems.com/books/bf9842.shtml);
Delmar Firefighter's Handbook: Essentials of Firefighting 3rd ed (http://www.fire-police-ems.com/books/bf5647.shtml) and
Firefighter's Handbook: Firefighting and Emergency Response, 3rd ed (http://www.fire-police-ems.com/books/bf5649.shtml).
Pennwell (Fire Engineering) has announced that they will have Firefighter recruit training materials available in Spring 2009. Most of these titles have study guides and / or software to help your recruits succeed in their training.
Recruit Training Fact Sheet: With so many options, where does a department start? We have put together a PDF spreadsheet breaking down the major similarities and differences between the recruit training books. The spreadsheet can be downloaded at: http://www.fire-police-ems.com/misc/firefighter-recruit-training.shtml, or call or email us for a copy. VHS Videos: See the complete list of 1/2 price videos at: http://www.fire-police-ems.com/videos/2500.shtml
