The Colorado State patrol was established in 1935 as a division of the Colorado Department of Highways. The agency was originally known as the Colorado State Highway Courtesy Patrol.

Today, the Colorado State Patrol employs over 900 sworn and civilian personnel. Through the members' dedication and commitment, this agency has greatly improved traffic safety in Colorado and has become well respected in law enforcement circles.

In celebration of their 75th Anniversary, the Colorado State Patrol has produced a pictorial style history book, paying tribute to the men and women who have served over their rich history.

This is a comprehensive look at the history of the patrol, from its beginnings in 1935, to its present form in 2010.

With over 500 photographs spread over 260 pages, including many never before seen prints, this is a exhaustive look at our organization in images.

From historical information and photographs, to the uniforms and weapons used, to a look at the districts and branches that carry out everyday duties.
