September 11th Ceremony Contingencies

The Four Fives - 5-5-5-5

If a bell is not available to ring at the ceremony consider a church bell. The affect would be wonderful! The major concern is co-ordination. It would require communication between the ceremony site, and the bell ringer. It would also require instruction as to what the bell ringer would do - cadence, spacing, etc.

Another option is to use our version, below. This is a multi step process: download the file to your computer, "burn" a CD on your computer, which produces a CD that you can play in a "boom box" at the ceremony.

1) download the file to your computer: Note: where it says "save as", the actual instruction may vary as to your computer configuration. After you right-click the mouse, your computer might produce a drop-down menu with (among other choices): "save as", or "save link as", or "save target as". The name you supply will become the name of the file on your computer.

2) Use your software (such as "Nero") to burn a CD using the file you downloaded in the above step.

3) After burning the CD, test it in the actual device (boom box) that will be used at the ceremony. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT, as some audio CDs play on some devices, and not others.

Fear not, if all else fails contact us. We will assist and by hook or crook you will have a CD to use.

TO DOWNLOAD OUR FILE, right click your mouse The Four Fives and choose "save as (in whatever form)"

Download Taps

The website "mymorninglight.org" has solo and duet versions of taps. To download this file to your computer:
1) right-click the version desired (solo or duet).
2) this will produce a drop-down menu that will include, among other options, "save as", or "save link as", or "save target as". The name you supply will become the name of the file on your computer.
3) Use your software (such as "Nero") to burn a CD using the file you downloaded in the above step.

Inclement Weather

If necessary to move indoors most of the ceremony can be done.

The one exception is that part of the ceremony where the flag is lowered to half-staff.

The choices would be to salute an indoor flag, or use an outdoor flag (assuming that it is properly allowed to be displayed in inclememt weather).
