With footage covering October 26 - 29, 2008, join Providence Fire Video on a 4 day trip and experience the cultural phenomenon known as "Devils Week".

During this period, Detroit firefighters battle over 60 fires daily with as many as 8 going on at the same time.

Fires captured during the visit were:

  • Meyers Road & Grand River – Heavy fire in a vacant 2.5 story building
  • Chelsea St – Watch the 1st lines stretch in a 1.5 story woodframe occupied dwelling with fire on the 1st floor.
  • Rex & Manning Street – Stolen truck fire
  • Medbury Street – two vacant 3 deckers and a garage are fully involved
  • Eliot Street – Watch the 1st lines stretch in an occupied 2 story apartment complex with reports of children trapped. Everyone made it out
  • Richton Street – Fire on the 2nd floor of a vacant 2 story apartment house
  • Green Street – two 2 story vacant houses fully involved
  • Richton Street - 2nd Alarm - This 4 story apartment complex, which is right next door to the earlier Richton St blaze, was firebombed and many residents had to be rescued. It left over 30 people homeless. This blaze came in 6 hours after the 1st Richton St fire.
  • MacKay Street – Fire on the 1st floor of an occupied 1.5 story woodframe
  • Commonwealth & Holden Streets – Watch the 1st lines put into operation at this 2 story large vacant apartment house. Heavy fire was showing from the 1st and 2nd floors on the right side of the complex
  • Otis Street – Vacant 2 story woodframe. This fire was going on at the same time as Commonwealth & Holden Streets so we got to this one late
  • Harding Street – Basement fire in a vacant 1.5 story woodframe
  • Poe Street – Fire set on the exterior of a large 2 story apartment complex spread inside leaving many families homeless
  • Winthrop Street – Fire on the 1st floor of a vacant 1.5 story woodframe
  • Clark Street – 2nd Alarm on arrival - Fire was showing from the 5th floor of this vacant 10 story warehouse. We were 6 minutes out when the call came in but because of the main highway closed, it took us an additional 10 minutes to arrive. We had heavy smoke in a distance only to have it knocked down when we finally arrived
  • McQuade Street – Vacant 1 story woodframe with extension to a vacant 2 story brick building
