Lt. Andrade of Engine Co. 82 had a detailed chauffeur for the day. A box came in. When everyone was on the rig the chauffeur, not knowing where the box was located, asked the Lieutenant, "Left?" Lt. Andrade said, in agreement, "Right."

Of course, the detailed chauffeur, being a literal man, turned right, and it is said a food-on-the-stove became an all-hands. (Dennis Smith, FDNY, Retired, founder of Firehouse Magazine)
