FDNY Tales - Brooklyn Assignment Book

In the 1920's bound books were issued to Brooklyn and Manhattan companies. The Brooklyn book was issued on May 12, 1925. It weighed over six (6) pounds. It measured 12" wide, 10" high and 3" thick.

The bulk of the book (pages 19 - 682) contained the complete assignment for boxes 23 - 3999. The remainder of the book contained operational instructions in various areas, detailed below.

The book was used until 1929 when cards for each box were issued.

  • Paragraph 2 - Master Station A for stations (boxes) 23 to 800 and 1250 - 1450, and Master Station B for Coney Island stations 3501 - 3596.
