FDNY Tales - John Calderone

John Calderone began his career with FDNY in 1973, after a year with the New York Fire Patrol.

He has worked in some of the busiest units in the city. He was the Captain of Rescue 3 during the "war years".

He has served in the Safety Battalion, R & D Unit, Apparatus Committee and has taught at the FDNY Fire Academy and currently holds the rank of Battalion Chief.

He has written extensively for WNYF and Firehouse Magazine, and has authored many books dealing with fire apparatus.
