Important changes include:

• Addition of a new Chapter 14, Conveyors, which includes requirements for conveyors to align with NFPA 120, Standard for Fire Prevention and Control in Coal Mines
• New Chapter 15, Ventilation in Underground Mines, which includes safety requirements for ventilation to reduce combustible gas concentrations and align with NFPA 120
• Added Chapter 16, Emergency Preparedness and Response, which includes requirements for emergency preparedness and response plans
