NFPA 1452: Guide for Training Fire Service Personnel to Conduct Community Risk Reduction provides fire department training officers or other fire service personnel with basic guidance on elements to include in a locally developed cGuide for Training Fire Service Personnel to Conduct Community Risk in both rural and urban communities.

The 2015 NFPA 1452 helps fire departments engage more fully in community risk reduction.

The Guide encourages a fire department or organization to expand their public service and education program to include other major hazards, both natural and human caused. Changes in the 2015 edition broaden the coverage addressing overall safety of individuals within the dwelling unit, to further the possibilities for an all-hazard community-wide education program that is fully coordinated with other organizations and resources.
