NFPA 1955, Standard on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Surface Water Operations and Contaminated Water Operations, offers requirements for the protection of emergency services personnel assigned to or involved in surface water rescue operations or other surface water incident operations.

This new document consolidates two previous standards: NFPA 1952, Standard on Surface Water Operations Protective Clothing and Equipment, and NFPA 1953, Standard on Protective Ensembles for Contaminated Water Diving.
