Help Ensure Safer and More Effective EMS and Health Care Programs in Your Community.
NFPA 455, Standard for Emergency Medical Services (EMS), offers a common set of criteria for EMS systems to incorporate traditional EMS, mobile integrated health (MIH), and other out-of-hospital patient care and services. This standard includes the knowledge to help make your local EMS systems effective and proficient, and to develop, design, and evaluate a comprehensive community health care program based on those systems.
Developed as part of the consolidation plan for NFPA® Emergency Response and Responder Safety (ERRS) standards, the document unifies NFPA 450, Guide for Emergency Medical Services and Systems, and NFPA 451, Guide for Community Health Care Programs, into a single standard to increase usability, reduce errors and conflicts, and elevate performance and safety.
