The writer was born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut. In 1961 it was a beautiful, charming city spanning 18 square miles and home to two hundred thousand souls. Moderate to large sized cities were hard pressed during the turbulent sixties. Hartford was no exception.
The Badge, the Street and the Cop is a story of a foot cop during the turbulent 60's and 70's.
More than just recalling stories from the beat, it denotes the workings of a foot cop with the fire department on several occasions. Included is a chapter on the infamous Hartford Hospital fire that changed the codes in the hospitals across the country.
The reader will walk along side this foot cop and will relive the events that took place in the heart of the city. It is not a book for the squeamish for it can become very graphic and real at times.
