The Station Fire which started in the Angeles National Forest on August 26th, 2009 during triple digit temperatures and single digit humidities grew to be the largest wildland fire in Los Angeles County history and the tenth largest in the state of California.

The arson caused fire claimed the lives of two firefighters, destroyed 89 residences, 22 commercial buildings, and 94 outbuildings. The fuel and terrain driven fire exhibited very extreme fire behavior leading to the destruction of 160,577 acres, or over 250 square miles. 4847 personnel, 419 engines, 121 hand crews, 66 dozers, 19 helo's, and 11 air tankers were utilized to control the fire with the assistance of a cooling weather pattern.

On September 27 the fire was 98% contained. Radio traffic accompanies most incidents.
