The arson caused fire claimed the lives of two firefighters, destroyed 89 residences, 22 commercial buildings, and 94 outbuildings. The fuel and terrain driven fire exhibited very extreme fire behavior leading to the destruction of 160,577 acres, or over 250 square miles. 4847 personnel, 419 engines, 121 hand crews, 66 dozers, 19 helo's, and 11 air tankers were utilized to control the fire with the assistance of a cooling weather pattern.
