This documentary shows the daily activities of the 1949 Los Angeles Fire Department. It captures some excellent Kodachrome footage of actual fires, equipment, fire prevention, and safety activities.

Some interesting, but little known facts about the fire department of the time are given, including how the property values of an area determined the number of firehouses located there.

It also includes footage of firefighters at work, riding on the truck, and trying to save furniture and houses from water and fire damage.
